Vallisaari and Suomenlinna - the best of the archipelago
The best of Helsinki
Helsinki is surrounded by a unique archipelago – in terms of rich history and marine nature. We will acquaint ourselves with the island treasures of the capital of Finland by kayak, hike and bike. Join us and be amazed.
A short ride to the east side of Helsinki and we are ready to launch our kayaks and start the tour. After about an hour of kayaking we will reach Vallisaari, one of the gems of the Helsinki archipelago.
The old military island opened to public in the spring of 2016. The flora of the island is unique and the views towards Helsinki spectacular. Our guide will brief us about the past history and current developments of the island.
After a picnic lunch at the beach we will get back in the kayaks and head towards Suomenlinna. The fortress island is a Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Helsinki.
We will have time to explore the island before dinner and experience a tradtional Finnish Sauna. In the evening the ferry will take us back to mainland and to our hotel in the center of Helsinki.
On the second day we hop on our bikes and see the highlights of Helsinki. Riding a bike in Helsinki is easy and we stop in all the interesting places such as the Olympic Stadium, the Helsinki Cathedral and Senate Square, Töölö bay nature area, Finlandia Hall and a lot more. After the tour you can enjoy lunch in the city center before it is time to head back to the airport.
